Helping your kids ‘Do It Themselves’…

I’ve gotta gloat for a second… my little one can do a LOT of things for herself for her age. I am the type of person that appreciates this, but it is also extremely beneficial in our situation of JUGGLING work and kid care.

I know it’s all easier said than done, but in my specific situation I have found that spending a little focused time on helping her learn/achieve certain ‘do it yourself’ type things have really paid off for her and ME ๐Ÿ˜€
Getting dressed, shoes, helping feed the dog, neighbors paper, grabbing her own bowls and cups etc. PICKING UP! Lord that one has been helpful for my personal soul HAHA. And Potty Trained (we had to be potty trained for her school requirements). This one wasn’t as quick of a learned skill because of the wiping, and flushing abilities but now that she’s got it all down it’s a life changer of time and frustrations.

ALL of this gives us more time, and I don’t just mean for work but more time together. The focused time to learn and the play time once she’s got it too! It’s really helped her to try to do things for herself first and give things a shot before asking for HELP all of the time…which can weigh us all down from time to time.

I HIGHLY recommend picking a couple of things to tackle for your little ones to take care of themselves or to help out around the house and you’ll truly feel the benefits ๐Ÿ˜€
